Orthotic Student of the Year Award 2024
I was very happy to be presenting the Orthotic Student of the Year Award at Strathclyde University last month – an award sponsored by OETT every year. After her untimely passing, this award was renamed the Elaine Figgins award in honour of Elaine’s time as an OETT trustee as well as her contribution to P&O education during her years teaching Strathclyde University.
Cara is a very worthy recipient who had just graduated with a first class degree and also excelled in her exams during the previous three years.
Kay Purnell
Chair of OETT
These are the words of thanks from Cara Muir:
“I am delighted to receive this award from the Orthotic Education and Training Trust. I have dedicated much time and effort towards my studies and this being recognised by the OETT is truly an honour. I have been fortunate to have very supportive and knowledgeable supervisors throughout both of my placements who deserve acknowledgement. Receiving this award further motivates me to continue to develop as a clinician, aiming for the best possible outcomes for patients and to be in a position to help future students excel, as my supervisors have done for me”.
